We Become What We Focus On

We Become What We Focus On

It’s so easy to forget that the enemy knows us pretty well. He knows our fears and weaknesses… our passions and strengths. Yes, he will twist the very gifts that God blessed us with into some dark version of the light they were meant to radiate… but don’t worry! God will always lovingly redirect us back on course if we ask for His help.

As children made in the image of a grand Creator, we are also creators! When we allow God to work through us as vessels, the inspiration flows like a pure, natural spring. But when we are not walking in His purpose for our lives, the devil pours black poison into that spring; sometimes without us even noticing.

So, are you using your gifts in the ways God intended? If you’re unsure, here are 10 simple red flags to look out for:

1. Your overall health is declining rather than elevating.

    2. You’re frantically “looking” for more inspiration or new ideas, and forcing outputs that feel inauthentic.

    3. Your creations aren’t unique and look manufactured.

    4. Your personal life behind the scenes is struggling to balance.

    5. You wake up with heavy stress rather than bursting with ideas.

    6. You struggle to make social media content that seems natural— several takes, lots of editing and cuts, and a finished result that feels okay, but not 100%.

    7. You feel more alone and isolated in your gifts, rather than expressive/satisfied/fulfilled with your progress.

    8. Something feels “off” but you can’t identify exactly what.

    9. You feel pressured to keep up with the image you created.

    10. You feel insecure when you share yourself with others, and begin to question your own validity.

When we ask God to be the overseer of our talents and trust His process, we don’t experience any of this noise. He simply guides us on our path every day with bursts of ideas, and provides all the resources we need to bring them to life!

So, who are you and what are your gifts? Focus…

    With Love, Michelle
